General Admission Planetarium Tours

CLOSED DUE TO Covid-19 Risk

Your safety and ours are our greatest concern, so we have taken the decision to suspend public events at the planetarium until further notice.

We hope the current containment measures being introduced by the goverment will not need to be as extreme as we see in other countries, but as a non-essential service we feel this is a responsible decision for us to make. Please check back regularly as we are reveiwing the situation regularly and hope we can resume tours in time for Matariki.

Public tours are held every Saturday evening at 7pm in the Planetarium, followed by telescope viewing if weather permits.

Admission is Adults ($15), Primary/Secondary Students ($7.50) , Members free.

Please make a booking so that we can schedule enough staff and in the rare event we need to cancel we can advise you 2-3 hours ahead of time. If there are no bookings by 3pm the duty manager may decide to cancel the tour that night.
